  • What are vitamins?

Vitamins are vital (essential) organic substances which must be regularly supplied to the body in small amounts, i.e. in the order of a few milligrams (mg) or micrograms (µg), with food. They do not serve as energy suppliers or building materials, but are involved in catalytic or controlling functions. The absence (deficiency) of a single substance can lead to considerable physiological or psychological limitations.

    Fewer vitamins in our food

Due to the constantly growing degree of processing of our food, long transport routes and storage, more and more vital vitamins are lost in our food or destroyed long before they reach our body. The probability that a person lacks one or more of these substances is therefore unfortunately enormous and constantly growing. This fact combined with other risk factors (see risk group) leads to a large deficit of vitamins. Improper storage and preparation can cause high losses in food. The mean value can be assumed to be about 30% losses.

    What does "liposomal" mean?

Our vitamin C with CBD product is a so-called liposomal formulation. Liposomes (small capsule-like structures) are a novel form of drug delivery system that is safer and faster than many other traditional methods. They work by encapsulating the ingredients in liquid form in their core, making them readily available for direct cell uptake. Effective liposomes protect against digestive enzymes and ensure that the valuable substances of our multivitamin preparation reach where they are supposed to in the body. Studies have shown that bioavailability can increase about threefold compared to an oil preparation.

    The functions of vitamin C

Vitamin C unfolds numerous effects in different organ systems and metabolic processes:

    • Hydroxylation with the participation of oxygen

It is indispensable both for the formation of collagen in the supporting tissue (connective tissue, bone, cartilage) and for the maintenance of the normal function of these tissues (-> formation of hydroxyproline from proline) (see also Stahl / Heseker, 2010, p.135). Vitamin C is involved in the electron transfer of hydroxylation reactions. It is involved in the formation of a key enzyme during cholesterol degradation. It is involved in the conversion of dopamine to norepinephrine. The oxygen-dependent synthesis of adrenaline in the adrenal glands is only possible in the presence of vitamin C. The synthesis of adrenaline in the adrenal glands is also possible in the presence of vitamin C.

    • Reduction with hydrogen transfer

It is involved in the synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid from folic acid. It is indirectly involved in the formation of corticosterone. It is involved in the hydroxylation of tryptamine to serotonin (serotonin is a neurotransmitter derived from the amino acid tryptophan). It is involved in the oxidative degradation of the amino acids phenylalanine and tyrosine.

    • Radical catcher

Normal cell metabolism and exogenous factors (car exhaust gases, ozone, cigarette smoke, etc.) lead to the formation of reactive oxygen species in the organism (so-called "free radicals"). These are destroyed by vitamin C, among other things, so that they cannot exert any destructive effect on biological membranes, proteins and DNA. Together with beta-carotene and vitamin E, vitamin C belongs to the natural antioxidants ("radical scavengers"). Oxygen radicals are constantly produced in the cells of all living beings, which function as messenger substances (NO) or bacterial toxins, for example. On the other hand, they can also have a damaging effect: it can be explained that there is a connection between the frequency of certain types of cancer and cardiovascular diseases as well as the supply of antioxidant vitamins.

    • Chelate

Vitamin C promotes the excretion of toxic heavy metal ions (lead, cadmium, mercury). It promotes iron uptake by forming a chelate complex and promotes the formation of divalent iron. Vitamin C plays an important role in the transfer of iron ions from the plasma protein transferrin to the organ protein ferritin, which serves to store iron.

    • Other

As a reducing agent, vitamin C suppresses the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines. It plays a role in the sealing of capillaries and the activation of thrombin (coagulation acceleration of the blood).

The role of vitamin C in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases ( according to: FOKUS FOOD 2003 GERMANY)

It is possible that a secure vitamin C supply can alleviate the symptoms of colds. It promotes the function of the leukocytes (white blood cells) in the defence against infections.

Vitamin C has a beneficial effect on some risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

Vitamin C weakens the damaging influence of free radicals, thus reducing the risk of cancer.

A good supply of vitamin C reduces the risk of cataracts (cataracts), as antioxidants reduce oxidative damage to the eye lens.

Since vitamin C is an important cofactor in the synthesis of collagen, an essential component of the organic matrix of bone, there is a positive association between vitamin C intake and bone density, which in turn could reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Since diabetes is associated with increased oxidative stress, an adequate supply of vitamin C could have a beneficial effect with regard to diabetic secondary diseases.

Vitamin C can have a beneficial effect on other diseases or health disorders (e.g. prevention of iron deficiency anaemia, etc.).

CBD: Production with the CO2 method

For the extraction of our CBD oil, we rely on a specific method using high pressures and low temperatures to precisely extract and protect the CBD essence. Useful molecules that are often lost in other methods are retained and the result is a pure, potent and natural extract.

    CBD: Cultivation of the plant

The hemp extract comes from plants of certified industrial hemp.

Water, Sweetener: xylitol, steviaglycoside, emulsifier: SOYA lecithin, sodium ascorbate, glycerol, ethanol 1.6%, thickener: xanthan gum, preservative, potassium sorbate, flavouring: pineapple flavour, sodium hydroxide E524, potassium hydroxide E525, hemp extract.
